Lots of water play to keep you cool. Come in your bathing suit. Keep a towel in the car for going home.

Meet other homeschoolers for some fun with science and art. Families take turns to plan activities for the group. This program will continue weekly throughout the summer.

Brainstorm Challenge- “Re-invent the Wheel”
Monday, July 6, 1-3 pm
Round and round – make vehicles and other gadgets with rotating parts.

Chess Ladder
Mondays, June 15-August 17, 6:30-8pm
Keep your chess skills sharp over the summer with National Chess Master, Greg Acholonu.
For second through eighth graders already familiar with the rules of chess. Parent volunteers are appreciated.

Lead On,Harriet!
Friday July 17, 7:30 –9:30 pm.
Meet Harriet Tubman and take a pretend ride on the Underground Railroad.
Recommended for ages 9 and up.
$10 per person.
Groups rates for 10 or more.

Camp Masterpiece: Famous Artists
Monday & Tuesday, July 6-7and Monday & Tuesday, July 20-21
9:30 – 11:30 am.
Famous artists from different eras will be explored, including images, biographies, and quotes. Children will create their own interpretations of these paintings and drawings on canvas, drawing paper and mat board. Ages 4 and up.
$14 / $12 CCM members.

Camp Masterpiece: Drawing Skills
Monday & Tuesday, July 13-14, 9:30 – 11:30 am.
Artists will practice drawing skills using a variety of drawing media. Included is the discussion and application of 2-point perspective, vanishing points, horizon line, eye level line, shadows and highlights, and learning to draw from observation and imagination for creating quality artwork.
Ages 6 and up.
$14 / $12 CCM members.

Mixed Media Workshops
Monday, Aug. 3, Tuesday, August 4, Fridays, August 7 and 14
9:30am – 11:30am
Enjoy creative fun with pastels, tempera paints, ink, and cardboard printmaking with other young artists. Come to one or more workshops.
Ages 4 & up.
$7 / $6 CCM members per workshop.

Have You Been to the Moon?
Saturday, August 1, 10:30 - 12:00 noon
Folklore, art and more about the earth’s one natural satellite. One quarter the size of Earth and just the right size to block out the sun during an eclipse, the moon has held fascination throughout the ages.
Ages 4 to 10.

Camp Kunta Kinte

Crafts, music, food, games, and stories from West Africa.

Mystify your friends and family with tricks learned from a professional magician.

Effective Discipline for Preschoolers
Thursdays, July 15, 23, 30, 7-9pm
Why do children misbehave? Parents and teachers will gain insights and new techniques to manage the behavior of two- to five-year-olds. Approved by MSDE for 3 hours of Core of Knowledge training in Child Development. Facilitated by Deborah Wood, Ph.D.
$60 / $50 CCM members, $100 per couple.

Several homeschooling parents have expressed interest in starting small groups at the museum. How about a science club? Art workshop? Most recently we were asked to help round
